Mrs. Baird's Bakery, 1701 Summit Ave.

Mrs. Baird's Bread plant at 1701 Summit Ave. above West Freeway, taken in April, 1984 by John Cirillo. That wonderful smell of baking bread was always there when you drove by. Not only is the building gone now, but that whole intersection was reworked. The bridge was moved east a little and when you drive on Summit now, you are driving over the land where the bakery once stood. This was the older bakery location. Even before 1984 the main bakery had been relocated to South Freeway and this became an auxiliary bakery.
